My Wildfowling Trip

I recently had the pleasure of shooting on the Foreshore of Walney Island. I met some friendly chaps on Twitter, and i received an invite. Being relatively new to Wildfowling, i was quite excited, and slightly nervous.

The day started early, and after a 2 mile walk to the location,The guide was actually the secretary of Walney island Wildfowlers, a lovely bloke, who offered me his sofa for the evening.

My friendly guide set up the hide, and we waited. The wait wasnt long before we could hear the birds starting as daylight broke, i have shot on the foreshore in Scotland, to no avail, but tbh, watching the sun rise, and just immersing yourself in it, is worth the trip.

Any ways, there were plenty of Teal, and Widgeon, and in the distance a few Pinks flew past, I managed to shoot my First Teal, and then a Widgeon. These were my first birds i have shot, the experience was something i shall never forget.

In the end i managed 3 Widgeon and a Teal. I had the offer to stay for an evening flight also, but after an amazing morning, i felt that was enough, i had 4 lovely birds, and appreciated that.

I must admit, the whole experience was fantastic, and i fully enjoyed the entire experience, i am looking forward to the new season.

Thanks for reading, and heres a few pics.

Many thanks all, it was fantastic, and just being out was amazing. I had my birds, and I thought it was better to call it a day, and not ruin an amazing experience. I most certainly have the bug, unfortunately, I'm not a member of a club yet, so I'll happily wait till the new season, and try my luck in Scotland again. :)
