Makes sense.  Cheers for the info.

I'd love to have a pop at a moving target with slugs.  They are very slow compared to a bullet, and they can take an age to get back on target.  It would make for an interesting time for sure!

I should think it would be very good for developing follow-through. Or highlighting where one lacked it ;)

Well my forend nut is well and truly stuck on my 870, and I'd like to give it a different forend... Buying an action tube from the US is a no-no as Brownells can't get them and ITAR means nobody else will ship to the UK.

Does anyone know where I can find one, or failing that a cheap (yeah right :D) or knackered S2 870?

These chaps can be remarkably resourceful: https://www.gunspares.co.uk/products/24671/870-Remington-Shotgun-Spares-by-Make-Shotgun-Spares-Firearm-Spares/

Also, might be worth trying Ebay. Norinco and other Chinese firms make various copies for popular firearms including the 870 so it might not be an OEM part but it might work...

Thanks! Already tried Gunspares though and bought a forend nut just in case I could only find an action tube. Also I've been refreshing Ebay enough it's unhealthy :D

Am I allowed in the club with several ? I just sold my Stevens 30 which I started regretting even before I sold it but I have a couple of others. It was a lot of gun for the money and in really nice condition. Oh well its done.

My Mossberg 410 is now flavour of the month 🙂

As I am new I still can't put an ad in "Trading Post" section. I saw through looking through some of the old posts some people have a Winchester 1897. I will post a "wanted" when I can but just to get anyone thinking if they are ready to sell their 1897? Not trying to by-pass the "wanted" ad just want to give a heads up 🙂

I will keep an eye out. They occasionally come up in the auctions and sometimes there will be one or two on guntrader. Same for the Model 12.

There was 2 1897's on guntrader last year, wish I'd had the cash spare to grab one if not both.

The last one I saw at auction was only a couple days ago, sec1 and RFD only though.

If its section 1 because of barrel length thats something that I probably couldnt fix quick but if its just the magazine I would be OK to pay to get it crimped to 2+1

Could of been out of proof, can't remember if there was anything else in the description.  Only thing that really puts me off one is how short all the LOP's seem to be.

Greetings all!

I've been offline for a while, but still actively shooting all my pumps! I have reduced my sizable collection a little and now have only Ithaca's (seventeen at moment and one clone) I am currently looking at the mil/LE class for slug shooting and reconfiguring my DS to S1 to meet scrutineering

So a Mossberg 500 ATP of a 1980 vintage has joined my little family of pump action shotguns. It's a little worse for wear and Ive stripped it to give it a good clean but the action bars seem to be captive in the action. I've watched field stripping videos and they just seem to slide straight out of the front. Am I doing something wrong or can these not be removed on UK sec2 shotguns.

TIA.

You might need to depress the shell stop. Never had a pump gun where you didn't have to depress one or both to get the action bars free (Well except the Ithaca)

I sold my Savage 30 Pump a few months ago

As soon as I sold it I regretted it and I let the guy that bought it know if he wanted to sell it back he should let me know, fortuately he decided he wanted to try a semi-auto and I had a Hatsan Escort I wasnt using much so we exchanged the Savage for the Hatsan. Thats him and me both happy then 🙂

One question though - its a quite unusual circumstance you buy a gun back although I'm sure some here would have done it, I tried to get hold of FEO and couldnt but as I already show the Savage on my certificate I assumed I didnt need to write it on there again - just send the Form 11. Anyone else been told what to do in this case?

I suppose it all depends if the initial transaction was entered on the others ticket or not, whereby licensing would need to be informed of that first transaction. If this is the case then the second transaction would need to be entered on your ticket again, and licensing informed….again. Otherwise, come renewal it will all turn to poop. 💩

I regretted selling my 1981 870 police wingmaster I had many sleepless nights over it.Around 8 months later I saw one for sale online exactly like mine a 4hr drive away😣.I rang the dealer to confirm the serial number and it was my old gun🙂.

I did the 4hr drive and I and picked it up that’s how much I missed it 😂.Being the police model it’s a very rare model in the uk and the wood on it is the best I’ve seen.

It also has a barrel over 24inch to comply with the law as the original length would of been 20inch.It was on my fac but I recently  had it crimped and put on my sgc it’s definitely a keeper.

A Savage for an Escort sounds like a great deal!

You're still obliged to have the seller complete Table 2. You want the seller and date of acquisition in table 2 to match your acquisition notification.
