955i
Hi all, little lads 6th birthday next month and I thought it would be nice to get him a decent kite to encourage getting fresh air and father-son bonding Haven't owned a kite for years so no idea what is on the market that is any cop so can anyone suggest makes/models that I could look at. Don't want to spend too much on it but want something that will fly well, easily controllable by a small boy and not disintegrate the first time it hits the ground. Beardo
we have the Classic Diamond Rainbow Kite and Box Kite No.2 from http://www.skyhighkites.co.uk/ very good - easy to fly and very hard wearing My daughter is only 3.5 and we play with them together, she loves them - they are single line kites rather than stunt ones so fairly basic

goodo123
Stunt kites are good fun much better than single string, surprising how much power they can generate.

Beardo
Stunt kites are good fun much better than single string, surprising how much power they can generate. Don't forget we are talking about kites for a 6 year old. Start with a decent single string and work up, it's the equivalent of an air rifle, compared to a .308 / flexifoil! 39TDS
Don't know how big my Flexifoil is, it's one of the smallest. If you tied it to a 6 year old it would be a good while before you found him again.
beeredup
a nice small stunt kite would be the best start for him i would agree but in the right wind with supervision a small foil would be ok as most of the flexifoil kites can be de-tuned by adjusting the lines
Paddy Galore!
i have something your lad might like, it's a half size stunt kite, bought it for my grandson who's not really interested. it needs a lot of wind but it's good quality, pm me your address and i'll post it up/down/across soon as i get it out the loft. flexifoils are ok, but you might get bored soon flying a matress about. Psyxologos
Why don't you have a go and make your own from scratch with him? It is not that hard, and it would be a perfect way to get bonding from the word go. Built it, fly it. Simples...
