But then when you look at how thick the metal in the breech is and one would assume that any gun would be made of carbon steel why would it burst also the gasses would go around the bullets untill it gets to the choked end of the barrel.

True enough, their experiment makes me feel daft for being so incredibly cautious when reloading .410. I'm not going to shove a .454 casull in the gun any time soon, but I might not sweat so much next time I substitute different primers or cases. :)
