sandersj89
Hi All, Im lucky enough to have been invited on a driven pheasant day but im wondering what type of cartridges is best. Also does anyone know what type of choking i should set my gun to? Cheers No idea about choking as my s by s is fixed choke. As for cartridges I have used Gamebore 6shot 32gr loads for a couple of season now and they hit well. 30gr loads should also be fine but I do get some shooting on high fast birds in Devon. In previous seasons I used Hull High Pheasant but perfer the Gamebore one at the moment. What ever you choose it would be worth trying a box or 2 against clays before hand so you can get used to the speed of the cartridge. Oh and check if the shoot you are going on requests fibre wad only or even paper case and fibre wad only. HTH Jerry
BERETTA687
express supreme game 32gram number 6s.. good cartridge, perform very well. game bore are good aswell as sanders says but i think express are top. as for chockes quarter and half , thats what i use but some prefer quarter and 3 quarter.. up to you. young gun
I use gamebore high bird 32grams 6's or 5's, again my gun is fixed choke quarter and 3quater. I tend to use 5's if i'm going to be shooting pheasants especially if they are likley to be high birds but 6's will do it.

M ROBSON
Any good 30g-32g 6's 3/4 and 1/4 for chokes, as with driven birds the 1st shot should be further away. Mark.
