hello people,

I drove my car this morning for around 6 miles, started fine, I went shooting I came back put it in the drive, I was listening to the car stereo whilst changing my shocks on the rear, I then went to start it and it wouldn't start just a ticking noise, I flashing symbol has appeared with a spanner, I called AA they checked the battery it was flat but he put some charge in, still wouldn't go, he said its something to do with the keys, we tried both keys still no joy!

any help on this matter would be great!

cheers

Hi mate, very common problem with corsa d. Flat / weak battery and it corrupts te bcm. Even with new battery you will still get flashing key light.

It's not your keys.

You will need someone to re program your bcm. A tech 2 will be needed. Try local auto electricians and get a quote to re program / update the bcm software - they will know about this problem (update software has a fix as vauxhall know about it). Vauxhall will charge a fortune.

I do loads of these, pitty you are not closer I'd have sorted it for you.

There is another way if you can be without your car for a few days, pm me if you can.

Vauxhall.....

Would sooner go on the bus than buy one.

Sorry, no help I know.

My Vauxhall is 18 year old and NEVER missed a beat! Infact I have had

2 Nova's

1 Chevette auto

Mk1 Astra

2 Mk2 Astra's

2 Mk3 Astra's

Mk2 Cavalier

2 Mk3 Cavalier's

The ONLY vauxhall I had probs with was a poxy little 2003 Agila twin port. Nasty new engines designed to fulfill the new EU regs and as such are far too soft now.

I am still driving an 18 year old 1.8 cavalier 8v and it's flippin marvelous.

I note the lack of a Vectra on that list.

I had one of them and the EML used to light up any time it liked, done my head in and have never had a Vauxhall since.

I go off work difficulty. Most cars are just and good as the other car these days but vauxhall have always been the easiest to work on in my opinion. As 4x4s go, proper Landys are hard to beat (ie series and defenders ) for the off road side of things.

and a 58 plate 2.5 which at 80k has
