il cacciatore
After an American accusing my Remington 700 ADL of being a "Walmart Special" on Youtube I was wondering who agrees with this statement.
JohnGalway
Clicked on Other accidently instead of I don't understand the question... As long as your rifle does what you got it for and you're happy with it who cares what he thinks? If I interpret the question properly, and I'm not sure I do, it's a bit like people who run down Baikal shotguns even though they'll do the same job as an expensive gun except cheaper and often more reliably IMO. il cacciatore
I think that he means its a cheap, nasty, common, mass produced piece of junk. Though I don't think that he's correct with his opinion, mass produced certainly but not common or cheap. Though I'm not even sure if thats what he means.. Thought it would be a laugh to see what people think of the statement. Don't really care what he says as he thinks you would be better at throwing stones at foxes than using a .
Cranfield
The "Walmart Special" expression came about from Manufacturers making allegedly poorer quality products, specifically for Walmart and cheaper outlets in the USA. The products were sold branded with the Manufacturers name (ie not Walmarts). The best example I have seen, was the black Abu 7000 multiplier reel. Far poorer quality than the red Abu reel, sold elsewhere.
il cacciatore
Its quite a good expression that I find humorous I give him that.
trixx
It's cheap and cheerful, but functional. A blind-ending magazine rather than a hinged floorplate would not suit me, but it will probably shoot straight enough. As for the rest, depends on what your preferences are and how much you are going to use it.
DaveK
I look forward to seeing them in ASDA on a buy one get one free deal . With Mrs Daves 10% discount for working there I'll be selling the spare one cheap Dave
the last engineer
Cranfields answer is correct for this question, its a daily used expression here also, it dosent mean that the particular item is junk al the time, but that its easily available and cheaper too. Walmart as a side note sell quite large quantities of ammunition, from rifle to shotgun, light target to heavey hunting loads, so thinking everything coming from here is junk is not so, there endeth my praise to Walmart for keepimg load prices down, any representative from Walmart reading this PM me all details of freebees coming my way thank you muchly my guns are hungry again Martin
il cacciatore
So Walmart Special is a compliment? Its a weird thought that the supermarket sells ammo for us in the UK. Do they sell actual guns?
Hodmedod.one
So Walmart Special is a compliment? Its a weird thought that the supermarket sells ammo for us in the UK. Do they sell actual guns? They certainly do! The Shotgun and Rifle ammo is piled up on the shelves. you just throw it in the cart with your groceries The Shotguns and Rifles were on open display, but the handguns were under a glass counter. You just asked the assistant for whichever one you wanted to look at.

DaveK
Can't wait until ASDA start selling rifles and shotguns. Excellent convenience! Your names in the frame for the spare remy on the buy one get one free deal. Perhaps you could return the complement with the £1.50 Beretta shotguns going cheap because they over ordered and need to sell them off quickly. Frank
Thanks Martin. My father, lives in Ohio state Columbus. He visits Arizona on a regular basis and tells me, at one stage, you just needed a drivers licence and away you go. But, after 9/11, its much more harder, to purchase rifles hand guns ect, is this true? Thanks, Frank.

Nice desert eagle by the way. I had one in .357 for a while but it was over fussy on the ammo it would cycle. Awesome beast when it worked properly though. I recognise a few of the others as well. Nice collection. Amongst the handguns both myself and Mrs Dave had stolen by the government were:- 2 x S&W 686 (.357) 2 x Glock Model 22 (.40 cal) 1 x Glock Model 19 (9mm compact) 1 x CZ 85 (9mm) 1 x IMI Jericho (baby eagle in .9mm) 1 x Tanfoglio Enforcer (9mm) 1 x S&W 456 or was it 645? (.45 ACP) 1 x Sig Sauer P220 (.45 ACP) It was hearbreaking to watch them get put into plastic bags by the police (who, by the way, had no idea what they were processing) Dave
