16 Bore

Just wondered if anyone shoots with a 16 bore ?

if so, at what sort of range would you expect to use them for pigeon decoying?

And of course the old question.....................what cartridges do you recommend?

I use 16g best hide gun ever you need lyvale special 16.

lovely gun....nice and light and deadly........i may get one, when i find it difficult to handle my 12......i think cartridges can be a bit more pricet tho ?

I have one that my Dad used for many years and occassionally many moons ago he would let me use it now and again. He passed away a few years ago and i've not used it (don't really know why)

I think i'm going to start using it though as from what i remember it always mounted easily and was very effective ( well it was in his hands) .

5.95 a box at melbourne tackle .i got a loverly gabonne 16g folding single off mr bosher for 40 quid n when ive shot all my carts im gonna reload em n save some dosh.makes u aim harder only 1 barrell

Borrowed a 16 bore Browning auto many times for shooting the rabbits, used ounce of 6s just the same as i do in 12 bore.

i,ve got a ST ETIAN ROBUST sbs 16, it the best hide gun ive used. my other half uses it now, so had to go back to the 12 again.
