NickB65
Oh god..... this debate again....... The answer is whatever you want to get..... like and enjoy shooting.. Some will go for the .22 and others for the .177 - all have valid points..... all have valid arguments....... just down to personal choice...... Next it will be Spring or PCP...... secretagentmole
Not if he is getting a 95, they only come in spring flavour.....
evo
any of them, whatever you are comfortable with, whatever you can shoot accurately with, they will all do the same job in the right hands,
Andysniper
thanks guys am a military man so I can shoot anything and very accurate .177 probley then for the flatter trajectory and speed
chrisjpainter
Can I ask, are you after a .20 or a .22? just want to know where the mistake is! .177 or .20 might make a SLIGHTLY more interesting debate!
Underdog
I had a 95 in 17, it was very good but being smallish I struggled to shoot it consistantly well(aiming wise). No fault to the gun, just me. Any size hole in the barrel will bring smiles. U.
stoogey
if your itching to try .20 go for it, some love it others cant get a good enough pellet.
jamiedenny
Which ever you like, im. 22 as they go the same distance anyway.
Andysniper
22 not 20 Can I ask, are you after a .20 or a .22? just want to know where the mistake is! .177 or .20 might make a SLIGHTLY more interesting debate!
robbiep
The biggest limitation in any reasonably well built/well zeroed air rifle is the Mk 1 human squeezing the trigger
chrisjpainter
The biggest limitation in any reasonably well built/well zeroed air rifle is the Mk 1 human squeezing the trigger too true. The mk1 can be pretty unreliable. colds, sore throats twitchy fingers, a passing bee: all seem can cause malfunctions.
Underdog
I am a mark 1 human yeah. Stoop of back makes aiming difficult. Dodgy eyes too :-( U.
Afastr
Bit off topic here, but does anyone actually use a .20 rifle as their main hunting gun?

chrisjpainter
Bit off topic here, but does anyone actually use a .20 rifle as their main hunting gun? put that as a new topic mate, as I'd like to know the answer as well! I've toyed with the idea, but never committed as with weights of pellets being so variable these days, there's not a great deal of difference between a light .22 and a heavy .177. could be wrong though! evo
its really about personal choice,177 or .22 will both bash bunnies in the right hands, imo shot placement is more important
Dekers
Why don't we just pin this topic and then it can go on for 1000's of comments.................. and still not get an answer....................... and what's wrong with .20 or .25? secretagentmole
Used my .177 Daystate this evening, 2 nice sized rabbits died, shot in between the eye and the ear, both died instantly. One still had grass in it's mouth!

Can't stalk, open field with bog all hedgerow, get into position and wait for the little baskets to get into a suitable position then a 1 way ticket to meet the ancestors! Muddy Funker
177 but every one has there preferance.somebody told me once you cant use a 177 for hunting.he was an old bloke been shootin for 30 years. never heard so much **** You can't argue will people like this, they're older and have been shooting longer so of course they know best I switched to .177 sub 12ftlbs years ago and never looked back. Head shot rabbits often drop without a twitch.
