Trying to figure out a name early rather than the usual last minute.

Anyone like to offer any suggestions for a new addition arriving in a few weeks?

The critter in question is a black lab bitch coming from Ireland and I'm after a name with an Irish flavour that's a little different ..... Pocheen/Murphy & Guiness are out!

Answers on a postcard please.

Aine? Ancient Irish name from the noun aine that means “splendor, radiance, brilliance.” Aine is connected with fruitfulness and prosperity. The queen of the Munster fairies was called Aine as was one of the wives of Fionn Mac Cool (read the legend). Aine appears in folktales as “the best-hearted woman who ever lived – lucky in love and in money.”

  • 3 weeks later...

After much thought and browsing the links from PERCE & DJGEOFF I've settled on ...... ERYN

Gaelic for "From Ireland" which fits the bill nicely.

Another two weeks to wait for her to arrive tho.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
