Marksman training system

Hi peeps,

A client has asked me to arrange for a marksman shooting system to be installed in a new property. Has anyone used them or anything similar, any options on how good or bad they are?.

I have no experience what so ever as I don't live in central London and can actually go outside.

My first question is why does he want it?, for what use, a training tool or just a but of fun?.

All comments welcome.

Around £20k ish.

It's not really a question of cost just if its **** and essentially just a game then it might as well be a ps3.

I'm not contracted as a specialist (clearly) its just in the works package but I found it strange that I have never heard of it and only Slovakian Olympic team seem to be the people buying it :-/.

when I 1st joined the Army in 1998 we had a similer system that palyed films of a section attack that we would shoot at if you killed the person it would mark your shots and pause for 2 seconds

I guess it had is useses but I prefered to be on the proper range as the rivels where HK conversions to 22 but its not the same as being outside soing it for real, However I things have moved on a bit now so I can see if the funds are avalible and you wanted one then why not I could see how it might help with mount and swing through with out leaving the house etc

Was it of any use ?

More up to date systems are used in 'shoot houses' for training police etc.. also, non frontline forces personnel also use them to do their annual firearms competence tests.. they don't use real ammunition any more!

As to the OP and 'Why' I would say.. because he can! same reason that someone builds a home theatre rather than just getting a telly... because they can!

Tht is its use, there is a high speed camera system that allows you to self coach (or professionally coach) so it's more of mounting/ lead training tool.

I'm off now to record the soubd of a 12g :-/.

That's interesting I didn't know did not use live ammo..

As for the because they can, don't worry I get that I am the theatre guy. But when someone spends £1m on a room it's never just because.

Thanks for your help. Ill pop a video up when its in and let you know how it goes.
