shalfordninja33
Hello Chaps, I'm hainvg some work done on the house at the moment and now the roofs been refurbished I want to have the cavity walls insulated. I've tried British Gas and the local council who arent operating any grants or free schemes at the moment, I dont want to go down the green deal route I just want to pay and have it done in the next couple of months. Has anyone else empolyed a company to insulatate their house and if you have would you be able to give me a reccomendation? I live in Essex. Thanks. 955i
There is a company called Marks Group doing it for free up here at the moment, just had mine done. May be worth contacting them and seeing if they are working your area
ME
Ha! We had the Mark Group do our old house walls. Their two operatives made Laurel and Hardy look professional. They drilled through an electricity cable. They made the mortar mixture too weak so it all had to be redone. They covered our front and back garden in white cavity filler. They also dragged their pipes over my flat roof and it had to be redone at their expense. To add insult to injury it wasn't much warmer after and we got water ingress i.e. wet patches on the walls and some ceilings. In my experience I would say leave it all well alone.
