besty57
I heard on the news tonight that fracking for gas should be carried out in the north east of England,as it is desolate and uninhabited, according to the old **** lord howell, just goes to show that he has obviously hasn't been any farther north than Watford, why dont these idiots keep quiet until they learn something about the subject they are speaking on. Mind you, what's there to laugh about in the North East - it's all bit too unemployed, Jimmy Nail, closed ship yards and Byker Grove. Vince Green
There is a lot of space, and some beautiful country, up in the North East, you can't deny that. Whether they want fracking is another matter but its no more disruptive than the old mines were surely?. It might bring some jobs back to the area. Mind you, if my cousins are anything to go by jobs would be the last thing they would want. After using "there are no jobs" for the past thirty years as the excuse for not working they would be stuufed if suddenly there were jobs. We dont want the suffeners to see what its really like, Wouldnt suprise me to that Howell has a home up here and doesnt want it filling up with suffeners so puts these "desolate and uninhabited" stories about We have no roads north of Watford, no electricity or gas, and most of us live in soggy cardboard boxes in't middle o road..... move along now still nothing to see... Methinx some people take life far too seriously....

unapalomablanca
sting and chris rea, the animals, and quite a few more hail from the north east. I get the right hump, when people object to all this fracking lark, just get on with it and reduce my gas bill. I am sick to death of protestors taking the government shilling and trying to stop progress. America have been fracking for years and gas is dirt cheap. -Mongrel-
wigan is in the midlands.not the north. It's a decent bloody trek North from Brighton! Plenty far enough for a Suffener! It must be truly grim 'oop North proper, Wigan's grim enough!
digger
I went to Blackpool, that was 895% more than I could cope with. Saw and heard things from the dark ages. The whole north / south divide thing is ridiculous, lets get it over with - get a great big saw ( paid for by Southern sensibles ) and cut the cold, poor bit off. (Norther people can be employed to use the saw, it will keep them warm and they can regale their offspring with tales of a days work and how they nearly saw London ). kdubya
its a strange thing is the north south divide my wifes family all live in the sarth, Sandy, Great Barford and Stevenage (now there is a stink hole) I love it down there and they love it up here, they can never get over the beaches and the fact that a stranger to them will buy them a cuppa and a bacon butty when I take them clay shooting, I love the convenience of everything I like duxford old warden etc for them, but in reality I would not swap and I dont think they would either. ack-ack
The north south divide exists for comedy purposes only. I think we should all start on the midlanders.
