Im in the process of filling out my FAC application for a .22 rifle. When I was buying the gun the dealer (tannyoky guns and ammo) gave me the forms to fill and said I needed to get permission from at least 3 landowners. However on the FAC guidance booklet I got it states you only need signed permission from one, im finding it quite difficult getting permission from suitable land as apparently I need areas of at least 100 acres, and getting just the one permission would be a lot easier than 3. What do you think?

You only need one signed permission. It used to be the case that you needed three, but it states on the 30/1 application pack in the guidance notes that only one signed permission is required.

I only had one farmers permission when i applied for my 22LR and my .17HMR.

Thanks guys, how many acres did you have on the land you put down on the application?

Whilst acreage may be an issue, so too will be the actual topography of the land in question. It will need to have adequate back stop to make it suitable for .22lr use, regardless of size. This however is rarely an issue in our hilly wee part of the world that is N Ireland.

if its your first time filling out a firearms application then they will ask for 2 land owners, any time after that its just the 1 land owner, regards to the acreage i got a .17hmr rifle with only 47 acres on my first application for a firearm, so i wouldnt be to worried about the acreage

You only need the one bit of land and it does not have to be of 100 acres. It just has to be not unsuitable.
