NickB65 Posted October 14, 2013 Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 Well it was raining when I got up on Sunday but the forecast was clear in the afternoon. When I arrived at the farm it was still raining but I could see the clear front coming in so I set-up the decoys under two flight paths.... I set-up 18 FUDS, four full bodies and a bouncer in a L shape with the hedge behind and the wind coming in from the left rear..... After ten minutes one feral popped in and then popped off to see St Peter but that was it...... The flight lines where quiet although some other fields had some activity but not much. I set-up at 11am and by 3pm I had one feral, one partridge and a cock pheasant, the later two I bagged while walking the boundary. I say bagged... they where injurred birds from the previous days shoot I guess and could not fly so these where dispatched out of mercy! Both had been wing hit but ran very well Just one of those days I guess. Has to be said there was some crow and rook activity but I only had Pigeon decoys and they just would not come close enough for me to bag one. Lovely afternoon though, sat back watching the world go by... Roe skipping across the field, Kestrel and Buzzard soaring above..... just nice to be out. Even the sun came out for a while.....
