spandit
When my wife finds out about my little purchase today. RWS stainless/synthetic in .223 with Wildcat mod. & Burris scope. I don't think she'll fully appreciate the package was a bargain (at least I hope it was - £1075 with £30 of ammo) This is from the man who was going to get used to his .22LR first before buying bigger... dadioles
Buy one get one free..... at least that's what I told my wife. One shiny stick that goes bang looks just the same as any other....
wraivi
Aaaw, just man up! Its your money that you earnt ain't it? OR why not try a wife's favourite. ...... oh, I bought that ages ago, coz it was on sale and just remembered I have it! Remember...... You only got it coz it was a bargain of the century and on sale.......how could you not? GOOD LUCK THAT MAN.
spandit
Wish I hadn't shown her the .22 now... she'd never know the difference. I could give her some callipers and tell her to measure the bullets Hope I did get a good deal, from reading around it wasn't the bargain of the century but not too overpriced
wraivi
Who cares dude. The on sale bargain excuse is good enough for the chicks.......to justify any impulse buys they make. Just a bit of 'whats good for the goose is good for the gander'.
kyska
Ah ha ha, I did the same not too long back, went for ammo and came back with .223 steyr, meopta and T8. Mrs didn't notice the rifle, the other gun cabinet was a different matter....

Dead-Eyed Duck
Just tell her ..... You just couldn't leave it in the rack at that price. In terms of cost per wear it was very reasonable. You just had to buy it whilst it was in fashion. It had a slight flaw, and so it was at a really knock-down price, Now the wardrobe is full, you won't need another one for ages. _martin_
They haven't got a clue, just tell her it cost £250 Trust me that one doesn't work any more. I use to tell her the same thing, then she asked why every gun is the same bloody price. Now I just lock them in cabinet and don't tell her what's old/new, they all look the same when zipped in to a gun bag
Archie-fox
Do what I do, claim you have had it ages.. New gun cabinet arrives as I've filled the other. " yea I've had it ages, just re-fixing it against the wall"....seems to work.

Frenchieboy
I wish I could get away with using some of these excuses but my misses has eyes like a hawk and always seems to be "somewhere in the line of sight" when I open the gun cabinet so she knows exactly how many guns I have and even worse what they all look like, which is a shame as I have recently has a big fancy for a nice bolt actioned .22LR!
