deershooter
Unless it's changed I thought it was open 7 days a week Grimsthorpe is not a ground that is open 7days a week it's open some Wednesdays by arrangement with the ground owner Mark Russel where a group can pay him and then take themselves round trapping themselves Deershooter
Ttfjlc
Have I misunderstood something? I'm going there tomorrow and when i called to book they say the same thing as when I've booked in the past and that is somebody will be there to meet me to pay then I go round with my other half doing the traps for me? VicW
As I understand Grimsthorpe you can pre book by phone for anyday that is available. You are met at the appointed time when you pay and get a score card. It's £30 for 100 sporting self buttoned. Vic.
Ttfjlc
Thanks Vic that was what I believed to be true, pretty sure there was a notice in the clubhouse saying it was a available 7 days a week, I'll check tomorrow when I go
deershooter
My mistake didn't know it was every day I only knew people who went on Wednesdays
Ttfjlc
Pretty sure deershooter it's only been available 7 days for a few months which before then would explain why people only went on a certain day, I'll post my score tomorrow as long as it's over
Fenlander
Grimsthorpe is a very nice ground, there is also Sinclairs shooting ground at whaplode Drove, which would be well under an hour from Boston,im in spalding and its only 15 mins from me at a steady drive. They have 75 Sporting, skeet, and DTL they used to have a compack set up, but i,ve not been for ages and do'nt know if they still do this. Crowland Gun club have a shoot every other Sunday morning, but its only skeet with 30 bird sporting.
Ttfjlc
Well got on ok today, shot 58, may of been more or less as 3 traps weren't working so I will never know but what I do know is those hull comp x 28g were the softest cartridge I've ever used! Had some gamebore evo 21g 8s left over and on one stand missed 4 in a row with those then used 2 hulls and smoked the last pair and the recoil felt less.
