A morning with the HMR

I was free for a morning last week and decided to take the HMR for a walk. I setup under a holy bush overlooking one of the fields. I spread some rubbish (food packaging) out in the field to bring down some crows and magpies. As you can see the weather was good but cold.

Here is the video and see what you think.

I like the thinking behind leaving some rubbish for the birds to look through. I enjoyed the vid especially when all hell broke loose !

Thanks

I read about leaving a bag of rubbish, years ago in an airgun hunting magazine, and tried it with good results. I had a carrier bag, and tied empty tins to it, together with bread packaging and a few other items. The bag was them staked into the ground. I placed a few dog biscuits and egg shells outside the bag, and waited to see what would happen. The Magpies were very interested in the bag, as were the Jackdaw's. To them, it looked like a spilt bag of rubbish.

it looked in fast forward the way the hmr flattened that magpie :good: nice vid cheers for sharing

The video was cut a few time as the crows went crazy for about 10 mins, but there was no fast forward going on. The little HMR just nailed that magpie. Both are in the freezer (but dont tell the mrs) for over xmas (not for eating) for decoys.

Thanks All more to come with any luck.
