Paddy Galore!
hi chaps, just wondering, one of my fume boxes needs a new vapour pad, not that i'm tight or anything but what is the stuff in the pads/bottles that stops the brushes going hard? i have some cellulose thinners, and i was thinking of soaking the old pad in that. what do you guys think? lineshooter
Ask Santa for a service kit for Christmas.........................., Cellulose will evaporate quicker than real stuff,
Paddy Galore!
will the fumes from the cellulose mess with the paint in the brush though? i'm thinking that i shouldn't bother because i don't want to ruin my nicely broken in glossing brushes, yet the paint shop is a pain in the bum to get to
figgy
If you look online you can get the bottles of liquid to resoak the pads for £6.45. I have the brushmate trade 4 with the orange lid and buy three pads at a time. My uncle now retired was a painter all his life put me onto them, if you use the smaller brush box don't open the pad packet up as far as they say just peel back to expose the top half inch of pad as it lasts a lot longer and still does the job. KFC
Yes, Cellulose will pickle synthetic paint. The adage is that you can put salt on chips but you can't put chips on salt. i.e you can put synthetic paint on cured Cellulose paint but if you put Cellulose on synthetic paint it will pickle it.
