I have just joined the club!!!!

I went toook at a few semis last night, (a close friend of my father-in-law is a collecter) when i got there he had a couple of 2 shot brownings, a Browning 2000 and a couple of 1100s.

After a couple of hours pondering I decided on one of the 1100s. It had a compensator on the barell which I didnt like so after changing the barell I took that home. Its in mint condition, I just hope I can hit with it, if not I'm gonna swap it for the 2000 which was another good fit

Will post picks when I clean it later

Mark

P.s. how do I date the 1000 from the serial number? (starts with M, then loads of numbers and ends in V)

I paid £100 for a 2st hand Hatsan escort and love it dose all I want from a auto wildfowling ,pigeon crow even clays!

A mate got a £1000 maxus and I can't shoot any better with it ha ha

Hello

You are describing me and a pal.

I shoot a Browning o/u pretty well , bought a maxus and I can't get on with it.

My view is two shots on target are better than three in fresh air.

Looks good in the cabinet though.

Yes mate. I will put some picks up tomorrow. Its on mint condition. Just cut my finger to bits cleaning out the reciever though. The part the bolt slides on is like a razor blade. Ouch !!

Also the barel hasn't got serial number on it? I didn't think they did on semis? That link says barell serial numbers

You've made a good choice, the 1100 is a great gun. I like the two shots also, did you get any pics of those?

Hi mate. No I didn't get any picks of the others. I should of really. The brownings where in good condition to however I didn't really fancy a 2 shot semi.

Can't wait to get out on Saturday now and try to drop a few crows

Just out of curiosity do you know I can get the butt spacers for the 1100

Thanks

Mark

The 1100 was the first semi I ever handled and shot. I like the way the bolt release is integrated with the shell lifter so that you don't need a button on the side.

Have a look on the Midwayuk.com or midwayusa.com sites. You might find them there. Alternatively you could possibly use the existing spacer as a template to make a new one?

Yeah I like that too. Although I've heard its a pain when reloading as you have to push that silver lever before it lets you load up. In sure this wont be q proble though.

I never thought about using the existing one, night give it a go

I've got an SX3 at the moment, (FOR SALE ON HERE) that I like, owned a Mossy 935 in the past, but I have to say I am sorely tempted to join the pump club instead! They are more reliable, no one can doubt that, and cheaper. If I had the choice i'd be getting a Benelli SBE2, but I think selling the SX3 and buying a Supernova may be in order!

If you want an NRA sticker for your mag tube to brighten up those "black guns" be sure & let me know....... :) :) :)

Now Neil you know I like my guns black only, like my men! :0 (Surely you can't be serious?)

On a serious note though, do you know how much of a carry on it is to get an AR stock fitted to the MK1919 and whether you can use the same parts/method on the Bora 99?

Do/did you have reliablity problems with your SX3?

I was looking to get one but ended up with the Beretta instead. When i looked at what people were saying about the sx3, i never saw a bad comment.

Hi all,

New to semi-autos, found a Beretta 301 in seemingly good condition nearby and am very tempted to go for it.

A couple of questions though: has anyone here had experience with this gun? How do they find it to shoot (I.e any particular carts it likes etc)? Also, I'll mainly be using it for clays and hopefully some rough shooting, how do users here get on with it in these circumstances?

Any other advice/words of warning welcome!

Thanks

Hi,

I'm pretty new to shooting so someone far better will be along soon but I used a Beretta A302 for training and it felt perfect. I ended up buying a used Browning Gold which is very similar and felt just as good.

From what I recall when looking for A301,302,303's Browning B80 etc if you get it for a good price you won't lose much on it if you ever want to sell it.

I don't think I would part with mine so now after a cheap O/U. And a pump when funds alliow.

Best of luck

Hi Mark

There is an adapter available for the 1919 that allows a buffer tube to be fitted so that all AR stocks can be used, there is a folding stock adapter as well, but fitting these adapters requires you to cut the original stock off, as its one single piece originally that includes the lower.

Here….

I don't know about the Bora 99 but will try to find out for you.

Was at the gunshop today, taking a newbie mate along to see what's on offer...

I was the owner of a Beretta 391 Urika for ages but stupidly sold it when considering giving up shooting... However... Back on it now and visiting a gunshop is always a bad idea :D

Picked up a Beretta 300 Outlander for the 1st time. Didn't buy it, but picked it up :)

Not sure if i'm too impressed at the woodwork and metalwork tbh... I know it's cheap for a Beretta but still.

The grain on the stock seemed rather 'open', and the finish on the metalwork was reminiscent of an Escort semi auto.

Anyone had one for a while? How hardy is the general finish?
