Broken Hatsan... sell, repair or destroy?

Hi everyone,

Last week my Hatsan Escort 20g jammed, and not just the usual kind of jammed either! Somehow, and I have no idea how, the cartridge became jammed between the carrier and the bolt/carrier release button. Now, being alone and a relative novice, I panicked and bend the carrier release button down to release the live round. I felt, at the time, that it was the only thing I could do. So, I need to replace the carrier, carrier release button and the spring that makes them work. I've emailed Edgar Bros but no reply thus far... Should I attempt to repair it myself (if it's easy enough), sell as 'spares and repairs' or take just have it destroyed?

Thanks

If you fancy a bit of DIY gunwork and can get the parts then fine. Why not take it to the RFD where you bought it and get a quote as well, Edgar will not supply you direct anyway so one way or another you will need to talk to your RFD.

Edgar bros will carry most parts, they need a lot of spares/replacements for Hatsan.

As said, give them a call if you have problems.

When I was trying to get a 20g Hatsan back up and running EB would send me parts FOC even though the gun was long out of guarantee and I wasn't the first owner who the g'tee originally related to.

Play your cards right and you may get a whole gun in spares that way!:good:

I think this just goes to prove that hatsan still can not build a reliable gun,buy something that works, its the same old story with the same old problems.

And the Hatsan knockers are off again!

The problem was caused by the owner panicking and bending the carrier, how does that make it "the same old problem"?

Get it repaired mate and keep it clean I had the one 3 yrs ago, never had an issue with if even put 100 21g carts through at the clays and it never jammed once.In fact I have just picked up a new one on Friday.Even the best semi's will jam if not kept cleaned.
