Teal
I have a decent english s/s unfortunately I didn't clean it that night as I didn't realise it had blood on it, which has knackered the bluing. Does anyone know a good reputable place for rebluing it and also a service. London or oxford region. thanks,

stevethevanman
They clean the gun down to 100% bare metal then they heat up a special oil to boiling and then I think they suddenly drop the gun in it , the metal then takes on the colour of the oil, just a quess. It will be very pricy

palombier
Teal Have you tried ultra fine (0000) wire wool dipped in oil in the first instance? You wont damage your barrels and you can remove a lot of the rust this way. If it is beyond this then I suggest Johson's barrel browners of Ruislip, they do all the top London guns. I can provide their number if you require it. Regards P
Noddy without Bigears
Teal I've just been quoted £95 to have my sbs barrels re-blued, but unfortunately this is in the Midlands area but they still should be around this price. If it was on one of my other guns I wouldn't mind but it's from my grandfather and I want to keep it looking trim.
