Born in Canada.

You did not come into life in the usual way.

Your mother left us before you were born.

You joined us through the skill of the vet.

The first breath you tasted , came from my lungs.

The first touch you felt, came from my fingures.

I bottle fed you, and comforted you.

I slept with you, and nurtured you.

 

.....

 

 

You grew fast

and

You grew strong.

Learning to play the games that made us happy.

You were obedient, and loved to pull the sled.

To travel for miles over snow, and frozen waterways.

 

 

.....

 

 

When youth left you, you did not complain.

Instead you taught countless children the joys of the sled.

Your courage and strength stayed you till the end.

Passing away in a quiet sleep.

Your eyes are clear again,

Your muscles are strong again,

Your endurance will go forever,

Run free, until we meet again.

Thanks chaps, been a rough couple of weeks, lost my horse just before christmas my dog just after christmas and a very close mate on the 26 th to cancer.

 

 

Kinda sounds like a country and western song doesn't it.
