High Seat Mods…..

Recommended Posts

A few pictures of some mods I made to a high seat I have just purchased. For the money it is not bad, however having sat in a few different ones on the last two outings all of us have found the front bars are always to low even on there full extension.

So with a bit of fiddling and using some left over material from when I made my shooting seats.

Quite happy with how it came out, I added an elbow support while I was at it….

Just a lick of paint to go………..

A really good fix for those seats would be to drill the back rest at the top and warm up the rail at the bend and straighten so it would bolt through the new hole. cut the box section off and weld a 25mm flat on the underside with a central hole to make up a tube flaten one end this will bolt to the tab then weld a slightly larger tube to the box and weld a captive nut to the tube then you would have a fully adjustable front rail, atb wayne ps good effort on the seat, wayne

Thanks for that, I looked at doing the work on the adjustments and that height is spot on for me. I make, fix, fiddle repairs for people most days so just nice to cut 5 pieces weld them and job done.

To make one with a height adjustment is not so hard but as I am not going into battle with the Chinese over a extra bowl of rice then it will stay as it is...
