Ear defenders

Hi guys,

I am after opinions on the various ear defenders available. I am edging toward a pair of sordins at the minute but thought I would ask first.

I coach a lot and currently use passive Cens but am finding a dullness to my hearing after a busy day. So hence why it's time for ear defenders.

any views of sordins, Howard leights, peltor etc muchly appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

Hi mate, I use the Howard Leight Impact sports (£45 Amazon) and for the value they are superb, I know there was another thread around ear defenders posted it below:

I did post a thread on here about the Howard Leight's around noise cut out but didn't really get a conclusive answer, but spoke to a couple of chaps at a shoot this weekend who had them and they said they behaved in the same way, so just put them at half volume. I have had experience with a pair of Deban's (priced around £95) which were good, but I borrowed a mates Peltor electronic defenders (think they are around the £150) and they were superb very comfy and great noise cancellation, but they are three times the price of the impact sports.

If your doing coaching and using them quite a bit I would maybe think about a more expensive pair something like the Peltor's,

Cheers,

I have recently been using the Howard Leights, I am unable to wear them for shooting because they 'stock clang' but they have proved ideal for coaching. I had been using Cens digitals but have had a few issues with them. Have gone back to Emtechs for shooting. I take your point on the cost of the Cens, but when they are working correctly they are very good, just start saving for the day they have to be returned for repairs.
