Have we lost our human decency?

Always stop- always help

As sometime in the future I hope at someone will help me......

What surprises me about us English ( ok ok, for now u Scots can be included too ), is that we believe were a patient and polite society- able to wait in line for hours etc and yet were so insular.

Have lived in France for a few years and as much as we slander them. I believe they are truly more polite- step into a room, elevator or anywhere there is a group of people and they will greet/ acknowledge total strangers even with a simple "good day", yet do the same in the Uk and you are met with icy stares or looks of disgust.

It's attitudes like that that pass me off. Your part of the whole 'everyone's a peado issue'

If anyone's in need I'll help out, I'll worry about been called a peado or whatever later but lending a helping hand is the right thing to do and shouldn't be discouraged by simple minded idiots.

ignoring the idiot behind you in the rover as he was in a car and we all know what cars do to peoples behaviour :), I feel there is general apprehension in the average human, many arent the type who would stop to help especially if the situation was serious as they would be so far out of their comfort zone they'd have no idea what to do if they did get involved. Having said that I do believe the general public are becoming more selfish and lacking care for others.

A few years back while walking down the street in my local town (loads of people around) I saw an old boy across the street struggle to stand then fall forward with no attempt to stop the fall, before he even hit the ground my natural instinct to help kicked in and I dashed across the road, I kind of tunnel visioned for the next minute, he wasnt breathing and had no pulse so I went straight to CPR, when I came out of my tunnel vision to assist I looked around to see if others were coming to help or doing something simple like calling an ambulance... you guessed it, nobody was doing anything bar watching and taking a wide birth around us and carrying on their business... I remember screaming at the nearest person to call an ambulance and was met by a blank face of panic, then to my surprise a teenage girl came to aid and support my efforts.

We continued until the paramedic arrived but our efforts were to no avail, the old chap died on that pavement.

Shortly after I took a first aid course as if it ever happened again I wanted to really know what I was doing and maybe make a difference another day.

I will always do my best to help others, even if its as simple as holding the door open for someone struggling with shopping, it helps them and makes me feel good about myself.

I have to agree.

Rover 75 = miserable old boy. This should be recognised as a statement of fact.

Rover 25 (not the sporty one) = foreign

Rover 25 (the sporty one) = chav

Your information is a little short on information. I have added the specifics for your records

Rover 75 = Miserable old bellend

Rover 25 (not the sporty one) = Foreign bellend

Rover 25 (pretending to be sport one) = Chav bellend

You could have been accused of touching her up etc. Best leave folk to the police, ambulance folk. Just not worth the hassle these days

There is a big problem if we accept and adopt this attitude- it might well be you one day! Take a long hard look at yourself

Very apt screen name if you are serious, I am hoping you are not ???

Pegasus, I tip my hat to you Sir, I would have done the same and two fingers to the 75 driver and those like him.

I can partly understand men not approaching through fear of you know what, but not the women.

If I thought a kid was lost and distressed I would still approach and stuff what people thought!

I would like to think someone would help if it was my lad.
