lap9387
So, currently have everything you could think of in terms of a divorce so I put my guns in storage back in December. Had a call from fao to ask if I fitted my cabinet and my answer was no. His reply "its dragging on too long, you have the weekend to fit it" So im due offshore monday, fitted it, solid to the wall but I ran out of packing timber and you can get fingers behind cabinet. he can come look at it, but will he revoke my ticket or ask me to make ammendments? fenboy
I cannot imagine he will be happy if you can get your fingers behind it , it you can get your fingers in then you can get a jemmy bar in so it will not be secure.
lap9387
I know that, I ran out of wood boxing it out. will they give me a chance to fit it properly or just say "you've haf your chance"
Big Mat
I'd ring him back and tell him that the guns will stay in storage untill you are set up properly, he is being unreasonable in my opinion

Gee.
B&Q etc are normally open until 8pm and they are open on Sundays Go get some more wood and do it now, is it really worth the chance of a revocation?

Gordon R
Whilst you might think the FEO is being unreasonable, he might well say the same of you. In his eyes - whatever your circumstances - he might think you are stalling. It is hard to credit that you can't get a piece of timber from a DIY shop or friend before Monday. Just do it - problem solved.
Greenhunter
I'd ring him back and tell him that the guns will stay in storage untill you are set up properly, he is being unreasonable in my opinion +1 There should be no way he can revoke your ticket for having your guns stored safely and legally. You don't need a cabinet, fixed or otherwise if you are not keeping guns in it. Technically you don't need one at all, you have to show you have taken reasonable measures to keep your guns safe. TIGHTCHOKE
If your FEO has waited since December then it's already been 4 months coming on 5! I don't think it's the FEO that is being unreasonable.
HDAV
Interesting this one as friend of mine was told he would not get SGC unless he fitted cabinet SGC different to FAC, are the guns on the other FAC holders ticket? With you working away and not being at home for long periods i can see the point of storing elsewhere, is the issue that the FEO thinks for 4 months you have been getting them from storage when back at home and keeping them at home overnight? littlerob
all i can say i ring him and say i reefer to the home office guide lines and it don't mention needing a cabinet its down to me to keep my gun's safe i have fitted a cabinet bolted and started to pack it with wood but cant finish it into your back next and to be honest most gun cabinets i could get into with a axe or hammer and screw driver in less than 5 minutes as most good metal tool box's are safer and better made than gun cabinets
StuC
What happened? Assume guns have been transferred to other SGC holders tickets, so irrelevant of your cabinet arrangements.

motty
Spoke to him on monday before I came offshore, hes going to have a look and let me know what needs doing to have it signed off Yeah, they're on my uncles ticket in his cabinet So why is the officer being so pushy? Technically they are your uncle's guns until you have them signed over to you. In my opinion the feo is being a ****. kingo15
Im not expert on this matter whatsoever. But surely if they have always been on his ticket and kept in his cabinet surely there must be a misunderstanding somewhere down the line??.
