ive never wrote about wot i get upto on a online website but ive read many of other peoples posts and have enjoyed the read sooo .. i cant see why i shudnt in-lighting use lot on wot i got upto on monday(bank holiday) . i had been watching a particular piece of permision for a cupple a week , the land had been turned other in october and left for the hard weather to hit .. i new it was goin to be peas as i had spoken to the farmer . around the 1st april the pigeons had came off the rape and went onto clover and many bird were using a 100acre of grass field just half a mile from were the peas were going to be drilled. the peas got drilled on the 13th and it took a cupple a days befor the birds started to use the fields . by the 20th the fields had a good show a pigeons , a good 2 flight lines were un missable and decided to shoot it the nxt day. i invited a freind and decided to sett off at 5.30 . when we arrived at the permission i choose my hide position so i pulled birds in from the 2 flight lines and the wind coming frm my right. i had just purchased a ff4 flapper from flight line decoys and this was the perfect opertunity to try it out. i sett the decoys out in a oval shape pattern facing into the wind with the flapper at the back as if it was flying to the front of the group to get at the fresh bit of ground(spilled peas) i have noticed pigeons do this on drilling .. they never stay to long on 1 bit of ground .. at the end of the day the more ground they cover the more feed they will pick up. i sett up 2 of these patterns leaving a kill zone (open bit of ground for the birds to land) between the 2 patterns. the pattern worked well shooting 40 birds in the first 2 hours and few more up until 12 o clock. at around 1 it went quite. the wind changed direction and wen the birds started showing they showed no interest in decoys . after wundering wot was the problem we decided to change the pattern . the wind was coming from directly behind us so we made a big horse shoe type pattern with around 50 dead birds . this done the trick and the birds started trickling in again. picked 110 pigeon fews crows and ferals . hope u enjoyed the read1175326_646236255431467_83000145059833491926766_646236275431465_298232114706964510173698_646236228764803_51163502805041110251901_645778578810568_43198977675992810277671_645778498810576_19246450331654210153846_645778468810579_83258143658779710277765_645778608810565_427970943195932
