Oly
I'm trying to locate a cheap Remington rifle dealer. Having had experience of vast price differences between dealers on other rifles (my Anschutz's price varied from £450 to £950 !!), I'm interested to hear what others have to say on the matter. I'm willing to travel so anywhere in the UK is a possiblity.
mry716
Ladds of Crediton or The Sportsman in Paignton. Find any price elsewhere that is legitimate and they will usually beat it. Only other place that sometines has some excellent 'Specials' is Mcleods http://www.rmacleod.co.uk/

Dunkield
I would have thought Minsterley were worth a call then, they like to haggle a bit if you have had a good price from someone else. They aren't everyones cup of tea, but they did me a blinding package deal on my rifle/scope/rings etc

JRDS
Bond and Bywater are not a million miles away and I am sure will match any price the Sportsmans can do if not better it, just do your homework on prices. They are very affable and will do a deal. I bought my 243 from them a new Remmy 700 Mountain Rifle with a DM for £499, no longer listed in the Remmy catalogue in this calibre but it is a very nice accurate and lightweight Stalking rifle. Oly
What exactly are you looking to buy? Remmy 700 VLS in .243 Alternatively if anyone knows where I can find a shot out remmy with a short 700 action that would do nicely too! mry716
A friend has a Tikka 590 (wooden stock) for sale in mint condition that has shot less than 100rds for an asking price of £450. This is an absolute bargain as the old Tikkas are much better than the new ones and finding an as new old model now is like finding Hens teeth. I also had a word with a Midlands gunsmith friend and prices are as follows for the Remington. Retail £911 plus screwcutting by importer pre proof £50. His price is £711 plus screwcutting as above. There may also be a carriage charge which can be confirmed pre order. If you are interested email me directly on mry716@hotmail.com

Best price I have so far is £625 + £30 for screwcutting - this is why it's important to shop around - nearly £100 difference already! Might import one myself from the USA though, reckon I should be able to do it for ~£450 mark.
