Bradders
I'm in the middle of getting a 22lr auto and i'm having a scope brought over from the USA have to decide by next Tuesday which one. I have a shed load of questions but the main ones I have are based on the following. I intend to use this mainly for static targets between 25m to 100m and there will be some bunny bashing as well hopefully. I intend to get 3-9x40 magnification or possibly a 4-12x40 but do I need the extra magnification for ranges upto 100m Would you go for a 30/30 or Mil Dot, I dont mind having to re zero for the different ranges (I assume I can simply redial the setting on the elevation and windage once I have recorded these at the different ranges) And the pros and cons of 1 piece or 2 piece mounts. Thanks in advance.....
Dunkield
I would go with the mil dot, then hold over/under depending on the range. Zero at the most common distance, then learn and record the other rnages on a piece of paper stuck inside the rear scope cover, or stick it to your scope. I have never used one piece mounts, for a rimmy you can get away with decent quality airgun mounts like Sportsmatch etc. If it was me I would go for a 50mm scope in case you need a bit more light gathering, but that is your choice.
