Description

AYA Number 3, Side by Side 3 inch Magnum Chamber 28 inch Barrels.

Double trigger None Ejector, Made 1974.

I bought this gun only yesterday on behalf of a friend that is awaiting his certificate to arrive

and signed it onto my certificate.

When I showed it to him today he had a few shots and to be honest the gun is not for him

( He simply can't hit nothing with it ) He has found himself a O/U for sale that he can shoot quite well with.

I am selling this so that he can get the funds to buy his other gun.

The gun works as it should with no problems and I would consider it to be in above average condition.

This looks a nice gun to be honest and shoots well and is well balanced, as I had a few shots with it myself as well.

License Holders Only Please and Collection Only direct from myself.

NE39 Postcode area for collection

£150

Comes with a wooden carry box that locks, please see pictures for a more detailed view.

Looks a nice gun just a shame your mate can not get on with it and a good price just no where near me to do face/face

I'm sure a wildfowler would like to add this to their collection

Good luck with the sale

Thanks mate. I think your right it would make a nice wildfowlers gun or an all rounder

having the capability to take any cartridge up to 3 inch.

Cheers Steve

I have had a text from a member regarding what way the comb is cast.
Please excuse my ignorance on this matter.
I am a right handed shooter and it feels OK for me but looking at it I am struggling to answer.
I 'THINK' its right but here is another 3 pictures that might answer this question.

Just some additional info to assist if I can

Its a Number 3 mate. I have been in touch with AYA themselves and they told me the details from the serial number
They said it was made in 1974.
That's why I contacted them as I thought the same...LOL
Thanks for mentioning that.

Unless they have told me misguiding information.
I have however just sent another mail to AYA to clarify the response from them.
I suspect they will respond on Monday now.

Its a No 3 boxlock a No 2 is a sidelock.

Hmmm...You must be right.

The email said

According our records gun serial nº 428948 is boxlock model nº 3 – year 1974.

_____________

But I have sent another mail to double check the info they sent me.

Thanks Steve

I really appreciate the interest in this gun.
I hope I am right in answering some of these questions that I am been asked
but I will have a go.
1, I think the gun is choked full and full ( but I do not have a measure to check this ) I am using my finger as a guide.
2, Is the gun perfect condition ? Well I would say NO as it was apparently made in 1974 and has been used but it is not rough as a stick.
3, What is the LOP ? it measures 14 . 3/4 inch from the front trigger to the but pad roughly middle measurement .......if you know what I mean.
4, Will you send by RFD ? I would prefer not to as this will just add stuff I have to do that I do not really want to.
5, How would you describe the gun in general ? The gun is far from naff. it is a AYA that's not bad looking really but also used and not new and plus it is only a £150 gun.
6,Have I fired the gun and does it work ? Yes I have and yes it works.
7, Is this a right hand or left hand gun ? I simply can not work it out. It looks the same to me but I have posted photos above showing the comb and someone says it is right handed ???
These are questions I am getting by PM or text until this time.
I will be as helpful and honest as possible at all times.
Please feel free to "phone me to check availability" and when I will be in for your visit as I am not always in due to work.
I am however self employed so I can work times quite well as long as I know you are coming.
Please see gun watch link in first post by gun watch for my phone number.
I hope this extended answer helps some.

So I thought it would answer questions in advance.

I think fandango ( member on here) is calling on Friday to collect it as he has been on the phone a couple of times today.
So in fairness I will let friday arrive before I make any more decisions .
If Fandango decides that he does not want it or can not make it on Friday then I will stick a follow up post on here letting everyone know that all systems are go again

Thanks Steve

Good luck with the sale. By the marks on the barrels full and full with one star under the stamped 18.5mm bore sizes. Could have been opened up since. I checked my sxs with a vernier gauge against the proof bore size and it was spot on. Yours should measure 17.5mm at the muzzles for full and full.
