figgy
We all know what window lickers refers to but has anyone ever saw one lick any windows? I never have. It's used as a humorous term for being a numpty, let's not get too PC about it there's more than enough of that around already. southeastpete
Christ in this day and age if someone on the bbc used that term, they'd get the sack! Edited November 6, 2014 by southeastpete
Mungler
Round us there was a bus company called Clintona - white with a blue stripe down the middle, and who had all the special hospital jobs sewn up. Objectively the people they were ferrying around did lick the windows and you never did see a sad one - they were all so obviously excited to be out and about. Saying that, the expression 'window licker' is not something I've heard since school and now sounds out of place - I think it's also something to do with the language eg calling someone 'tubby' sounds softer than the word 'fat' but both words mean the same. Flid, Joey, Spaz, Gay and Bender are also on the list but were used as terms of endearment or as greetings.

'Were used as greetings?' I can only guess your clients complained.
ack-ack
I only use the term when I am specifically referring to members of my family. Edited November 6, 2014 by ack-ack

Every time i have heard it used, it has been used to refer to someone with either mental or physical disabilities or both. If someone is a numpty, that's what we call them or a muppet maybe.
