roof work

The mortar that holds my ridge line roof tiles has been coming away and sliding down the roof so I think its about time I got them lifted and reseated with new mortar, so I asked a roofer working on a neighbors house for a price for this work and he has told me between £300 - £400 pounds. I live in a bog standard semi and the roof line is approx 26 feet long. Has anyone had this type of work done recently or know if this is a fair price for this type of work.

Thanks in advance.

I have a largeish sized bungalow and recently had the ridge tiles re seated and both gable end aprons recemented. I was quoted £1400 by a local roofing co, and thought it was a bit steep, so asked my near neighbour who is a builder he gave me a price of £1000. Upshot I gave it to the local builders, who came and did the job in 3 days, ( 2 chaps) It looks immaculate and the surprise for me was he only charged £800 as he said it hadn't taken as long as expected. That price you have been quoted sounds very cheap if you go with it , don't pay till you've had a good rain.:lol: from Auntie,...
