guinty1
The mortar that holds my ridge line roof tiles has been coming away and sliding down the roof so I think its about time I got them lifted and reseated with new mortar, so I asked a roofer working on a neighbors house for a price for this work and he has told me between £300 - £400 pounds. I live in a bog standard semi and the roof line is approx 26 feet long. Has anyone had this type of work done recently or know if this is a fair price for this type of work. Thanks in advance. bobt
do you want to spend a few hours on the roof? its easy work once up there, but most people dont like the height, price sounds ok,

WGD
2 men for a day plus materials and their own access… sounds very fair to me.
Ollieollie
Good price, I presume it's not a hipped roof for that price
shalfordninja33
Sounds a good deal, I had the ridges and hips replaced on my 3 bed semi last summer and with scaffold hire it cost just under £1k.
Blackpowder
Extension ladder - roof ladder sit astride the ridge - mortar to mix and carry up - hard work and in the slightest winter breeze cold with it. It sounds a pretty decent price to me. Blackpowder
brett1985
not a bad price, especially given the time of year. most round this way put the price right up for those kind of jobs at this time of year..... i did mine in july, took about 12 hours. not something i wish to repeat. not a fan of heights.... 100milesaway
I have a largeish sized bungalow and recently had the ridge tiles re seated and both gable end aprons recemented. I was quoted £1400 by a local roofing co, and thought it was a bit steep, so asked my near neighbour who is a builder he gave me a price of £1000. Upshot I gave it to the local builders, who came and did the job in 3 days, ( 2 chaps) It looks immaculate and the surprise for me was he only charged £800 as he said it hadn't taken as long as expected. That price you have been quoted sounds very cheap if you go with it , don't pay till you've had a good rain. from Auntie,... rich1984
Ive been quoted 400 for 32 new ridge tiles fitting on a 3 bed semi. Alot of mine are in a poor state so seems silly to re-bed old ones. I thought it was an excellent price.
vampire
sounds like a cheap price, dont forget hse working at height regulations and if you instruct someone you have a responsibilty in law,if they fall...........
loriusgarrulus
Cost me fifty quid just to have one ridge big tile replaced on the bungalow as one had come off in a storm last winter. Rest were Ok. The roofers were doing next door and popped across to do ours for cash.
