Bit of a long shot am guessing

But could someone point me in the right direction

I know nothing and when you start looking their are so many

and the prices vary so much

He wants to be able to take readings from indoors(is that possible)

So the seaweed on a pole with the notebook tied to it is a big no,no

I know from way back their where a few on here who knew their stuff

but any help would be fantastic

As long as I don't have to have one of those massive Satellites in my back garden

then I be happy lady,So please will someone enlighten me on the deep joys of Weather Stations and the best buys

Thank you xxxxSuzy

I believe Lidl are selling them and are pretty good by all accounts.

My first choice would be Maplins, they regularly have deals on them so don't rush off and buy one if 3 weeks time they are half price.

Get one that links to your pc via USB and you can upload it all to the web and see it from anywhere in the world.

£60-100 will buy a decent enough one.

Hi

thanks for the link

some of the reviews are a bit off putting

But am guessing for what it do their will always be a few hiccups

How do you find the whole set up?

I see one of the main problems was the screen reading is this a problem they all have?

xxxxSuzy

Must admit that the reviews on there would put me right off.

Mine is fine, screen is OK but I use it plugged in to a pc anyway so irrelevant.

Only problem I have is the rain gauge stops working, not because it is broken but because spiders decide to live in it. It operates on a little seesaw mechanism and the webs stop it from moving. just clean it out and it's fine again. A squirt of fly spray inside it once cleaned out seems to work.

If you are wanting to spend more money there are plenty of other makes out there.

Don't bother with the electronic stuff, get a weather brick.

A simple housebrick tied to a piece of string and hung on the washing line.

If it's wet, it's raining.

If it's swinging it's windy.

If it casts a shadow the sun is out.

If it's gone white it's snowing.

If you can't see it then it's either foggy or some ****** has pinched it.

A friend of mine suggested the brick

But I thought that might be a little bit mean, seeing as it a Christmas present

Thanks for the help and suggestion everyone,

its given me a few ideas to sort out in the next few days

Thank you xxxxSuzy

Though I might still stick a brick under the tree, just to see their little face when they open it
