I tried the Kraken a while back. Unusual but pleasant enough. Wouldn't turn down a bottle but I'd rather drink something more traditional. The Mount Gay is very nice but the best I've drunk is Chairman's Reserve from St Lucia, a lovely sipping rum.

After a day at sea we used a take a few glasses of Woods Old Navy Rum, 57% by vol.

Used to spark us up after a tiring day.

Just seen this thread.

I do love my Rum too! Sailor Jerry or Morgan's Spiced if I'm out with my mates. I also like Havana Club 7.

Another thumbs up for Kraken.

It's was my birthday last week, and whilst doing my weekly shop in Morrisons a paper wrapped bottle caught my eye. Rumbullion - made by Ableforth... it's a spiced rum. Quick look up on Rumratings.com gave some good reviews and a recommendation to drink neat.

Now, I must say there's not many rums I have enjoyed neat, but this on is really nice and I enjoyed every drop! £33 for 70cl @ 42.6%

I have a bottle of Mount Gay, too. But It's just OK.

If you can get hold of a bottle of Morgan's Black Spiced (not ordinary Morgan's spiced) that's worth a go. Very good.

Kraken is a great drink.

Another vote for Rumbullion here, if you like spiced rum try this neat. It's something else.

Anyone had the Oakheart spiced rum from Bacardi ..?

Brother got me a bottle for Xmas.

Perhaps not one for the purist, just want to know if it's in the raffle prize category!!

another rum beggar here too, most pubs stock morgans spiced or sailor jerry round here, don't like the latter but will suffer the cap'ns wrath the next day, tried kraken and it's pretty good too, Bacardi oakheart as well. i'll look into some more of these others as I do like a drop or two. I did find an elderflower liqueur at tescos before Christmas, made some nice cocktails involving brandy and champagne, lemonade if you have a sweet tooth, I don't know if anyone else has made and named it yet? if not then i'm patenting it and calling it the slickfinger.

Just seen your post.

+1 for Rumbullion neat, it's too good to dilute with a mixer.
2 or 3 rocks in a whisky tumbler and it is divine.

It's OK... But I'm no fan of Barcardi, full stop.

Only bottle of theirs I will touch is 151.

I was told woods is as close to the navy issue rum there is, how we ruled the waves I'll never know! Rum for rum lads!

Legendaro 7 year old sweet rum, was the best I could find in Cuba, it's so good they don't export much of it which is a pity.
