dann boy
Hi all I am just wondering If anyone has had one done in dogs eye before as my 3half year old lab has one I thought she would have been to young for one of those but that's what vet said It was Many thanks Dan
B725
I took my springer to the vets as that is what I thourght he had, but they told me it was just old age and his eyes that are cloudy are down to old age,if it was cataracts it could be done at a cost of £1200 per eye
dann boy
It don't seem to be bothering her but think if it's 1200ish I will have it done
PERCE
Have her spayed at the same time & it removes all temptation to have pups from her. It's an hereditary problem.

Utter rubbish, find a vet that has access to a ophthalmologist and get some proper advise.

dann boy
Have an appointment to see the eye specialist with her next week Why is there a need to have her spayed
toontastic
Have an appointment to see the eye specialist with her next week Why is there a need to have her spayed No need to get her spayed, a small % of cataracts are caused by a hereditary gene. But there are many other causes. I had a bitch hit in the face by a ball causing eye trauma resulting in a cataract, hardly a reason to have her spayed. PERCE
To remove all temptation to breed from her. I don't think she'd ever pass an annual eye test & therefore you really shouldn't breed. You do right going to see a specialist, I assume it's one from the bva list. Last year I had 2 vets tell me that a cocker I own had entropion, I took him with me when I had a labrador annual eye test & the specialist told me the vets had been talking rubbish. dann boy
I wasn't going to breed from her any way getting her spayed had nothing to do with what I was asking
