welshwarrior
Altberg Defenders for me and now they are MOD issue there are some great deals on Evil Bay with someone selling hardly worn ones for £60. Had a black pair for 13 years and now have a second pair of browns.
tharsus
As said the Altberg, Haix or ECW boots, I paid £60 for a new pair of ECW boots off the bay brand new, very good too. I also have Altberg and Meindl but they were more expensive by far.

Bansk65
Yep, bought army Karrimor SF boots off the Bay, £60, mint boots, worn them all this season and ive been toasty warm and dry. They are a good quality boot IMO as is the Haix I had before them.

Muddy Funker
can't go wrong with lowas the ones I've had have never even needed breaking in , you can get solomon quest in a brown that are also very good and same for some asolo's all depending what you want it for really as too what to look at one thing i will say is don't get used boots as these can cause a lot of problems if your doing a lot of miles as previous owner might have a completely different set of body mechanics and walk differently to you so they have worn in a certain way on the heel block for example and as you walk this can stress out your knees and ankles etc , unlikely if your not doing many many miles but some thing to think about and with the budget ou have you've got plenty for brand new boots Yeah I do agree with this makes sense. I wouldn't normally buy shoes that someone else has had their minging feet in but as they were hardly used I thought I'd take a punt. Mr. Merkel
Have a look at Hoggs of Fife boots, I have a the GT3000-WNSL they are good boots waterproof and breathable for £55 but they did need breaking in, having said that it didn't take long I am in my second winter and they ave not let me down. All the best Tim
Salop Matt
I bought a pair of meindel this year and thought it was excessive money spent.......How wrong was I, they are fantastic and i do all my shooting and dog walking in them unless wellys are needed because of water/mud depth. I will at some point in the future look for a high ankle set also. ATB Matt

Muddy Funker
yeah one of the reasons the mill don't re issue boots unlike most things they have )or atleast there not meant to) wasnt having a dig by the way if thats how it came off , all my motor bike boots are second hand so i can't say out lol they do get a good dose of dissifectant first though hahah No, didn't think you were having a dig at all I'll defo be going a little mental with some spray when they arrive, will prob fit odour eaters as standard too!!! bazzab
I have lowa and dangers. Lowas I paid under £30 for on evil bay. Thought at that price I'd take a gamble. Both hardly worn amazing boots. My danners were £40, over £150 new. Again hardly worn at all, not even broken in. There almost too good for shooting. Don't wear them when it's horrible and really muddy out. Daft I know!!!

clumber
Recently had my Alt-Berg boots resoled, new rands, Svartz footbeds, new laces and a tin of Leder Gris wax. All done for about £80. These boot are worn daily for everything, walking, shooting, on the farm, pub, etc etc and have come back as good as new. The footbed upgrade was well worth it. With the high level of service and work done I will definitely be buying Alt-Berg again.
