Well done Bob some good pointers there for some people with hatsans i had two one for me one for the son we shot thousands of carts through them only had one problem the o ring a 1£ part, the dealer we bought them of told us 70mm 28gr carts and keep them clean and he sold loads of them, o i upgraded to a beretta 400 i had to send it back twice but i dont have a bad word to say for about it and would buy one again, i certainly would not go on an open forum and advise people not to buy a beretta thats my advise 70mm 28gr cart simple.

Your list of probably caused doesn't explain mine with a Escort Extrema Magnum Waterfowl shotgun.  From two years ago, the first time I shot it until yesterday, the gun will not eject the shell all the way on every load.  I though I needed to break it in.  2 3/4, 3", 3 1/2" all don't eject all the way.  2 3/4" and 3" have this issue about every third shot.  The 3 1/2" won't even eject 100% of the time.  The next shell comes out of the magazine and I am constantly trying to get one empty shell out of the chamber/receiver with another one in the chamber/receiver with it.  I've clean it.  I've studied it.  I use quality shotgun shells (all steel shot).  Improve Cylinder choke.  This problem started when it was brand spanking new and only got worse.  Very unhappy with the shotgun.  My Benelli SBEII only had this issue rarely with only clay pigeon rounds.  If you only put one round in, it ejects perfectly every time.  Manually eject the shells pulling the bolt fast, works perfectly.  Shoot it!  Problem.

Mine was doing the same thing, the problem with mine was the ejector claw was rounded on the end from new and was slipping off the cartridge rim. I filed it sharp-not removing too much metal- and its been trouble free since.

part ex it for a proper wildfowling gun a used Remington versamax then you issue will be resolved for life :)

the best solutions are always the simplest and the gas system on a versamax semi auto is nothing short of brilliant in my mind.
