Cataract's a little advise please

We are looking at getting a second dog, a rescue cocker spaniel about 6 years old and we have been told that the vet diagnosed a very mild cataract on her left eye but advised no treatment as it isn’t causing her any problems.

I always understood that cocker spaniels suffered with eye diseases so am a little wary that this is the start of something worse. Also, would we still get insurance with a pre exisiting condition like this?

She sounds like she will fit in perfect with our 15 month cocker we already have. What do you think?
