Say Hello To Jay

Simon a guy I know off another forum who shoots most thing with an air rifle paid me a visit some weeks back with a cold box of goodies from magpies to pigeons even a duck and the deal was he wanted a bird back mounted. So I've been working my way through the freezer of late and came across a jay among the magpies. High time I extended my pallet.

I set about it a week ago and today I noticed although not fully dry it has set in position. For a pest it's a dam fine looking bird and the blue just pops. A real beauty!

It makes the magie pie mount for him look a little dull.

Thank you for your kind comments, but I'm very much in my infancy with only 5 months since doing my first bird, even at the young age 43 I feel there's a long road ahead.

But there is three thing I've learnt over the past few months.

1. Im more observant, watching wildlife.

2. Far more careful on bullet placement.

3. Now class myself as green as I recycle.
