Fishing Richie
Evening All, Has anyone any experience of the Griffin- Lloyd SG, Knighton, Powys. The website reads well as I am looking for sporting targets. It seems like it might fit the bill for a good day out. Any comments either good or bad appreciated. Sian
Lovely place, plenty of sporting targets - lovely walk up the mountain or drive up if your not up to it.
Squash wavy
Awesome place. Only been once as its a trek for me. You drive between stands, which was a novelty for me. Really challenging birds. The high pheasant is particularly enjoyable.
oldfarmer
I used to take my members there for a day out now and again. Around 20 sporting stands and various trap disciplines. Excellent testing targets but do make careful note of the 'no birds' as you will be on a counter which can add significantly to the tally. Fishing Richie
Thanks for all the replies. Sounds as though it is worth a visit and the hilly terrain sounds interesting. Rich
Fishing Richie
Eventually me and my mates got out to this venue yesterday. Absolutely superb day and the setting and terrain was stunning. We shot 25 stands consisting of some novice stuff at the start of the layout progressing to the more advanced stuff at the top of the hill. Took the advise from the original replies regarding taking our food and drink and counting the no birds. My Top Tip is if you drive up the layout be prepared for your car to be hit by falling clays as mine got struck twice. Good job it was of no value as if it had been new I would have been miffed. Incidentally there were plenty of warning signs around but I thought I had parked it well out the way. You live and lean. If you are in the area well worth a go.
