I think, according to a newspaper article a few weeks ago, that he was forced out due to him not being effective. In other words " clear off, you're a waste of space"

The article said he was going shortly, and that was a while back.

Another book? I for one would be interested to learn how starting a war qualifies one as a peace envoy. Were there any 'now is not the time for soundbites, but.......' moments in his resignation speech?

Labour leadership bid?

That would be my guess too. He won 3 elections with Labour, and unless they have a miracle they'll never win another, so perhaps they're hoping St. Tony is the man for the job. They are a bit of a joke at the moment, so why not turn a chuckle into a total guffaw. :whistling:

Maybe he has no influence there and they told him to peace off

that nearly happened 4 years ago when he was in Israel.......they were right hacked off with him and shunned him as he was spending 3/4 of his time working up deals for Tesco's....

This was the man in charge of a left wing socialist political party who could not turn himself into a capitalist millionaire quick enough, hypocrite. Dont get me started about his equally awful wife!

Blackpowder

I think you'll find that he was born a capitalist millionaire, just like most of his colleagues.

This is what really gets my goat about these "champagne socialists", they've never been working people and only wish to rip off the workers to live lives of luxury as career politicians.

OH MY GOD

I think we have stumbled upon the holy grail of threads, something we all agree on :yahoo: :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I actually thought Tony was a pretty sound chap and just a little misunderstood. As with most visionaries they tend to be dismissed as heretics before their true brilliance is recognised...... :whistling:
