Went down to the shooting ground after work yesterday with Gunner Gordon.

We completed the work that we started on Sunday and did some serious pruning in the wood to create a few more positions for some interesting targets. We've yet to put them to the test.

Looks like it will be a really nice day for the clay shoot at Astley on Sunday.

Will be going to the ground after work today to test a couple of traps and try out a couple of new trap positions that Gunner Gordon and I created in the woods on Monday evening.

A decent day and a decent shoot which was quite well attended.

Picture of our trap train. We now have half of our traps converted to towable dollies, the other half will follow over the next month or so and further reduce the effort required to set up and break down the shoot.

Put a date in your diary for August Bank Holiday Monday. We are having our first 50 bird shoot.

Remember the special offer for Pigeon Watch and BASC Members who show their membership badge or card whilst booking on.

Shoot at club members rate and receive a FREE brew.

Weather forecast for Sunday looks fine.

The shoot is now 50 birds over 6 stands plus 2 practice stands.

2 more traps converted to towable dollies this week.

This makes 12 completed making the job of setting up and breaking down the shoot much less onerous and quicker.

A scrap heap challenge trailer yet to be completed was a great assistance. Having the quadbike available made my job much easier and made the job of trap location much easier.

My Grandson Jacob assisted me and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He's already put his name down for ground staff. A great adventure for a 5 year old.

Jacob carried the shoot plan and later assisted me by pressing the buttons.

Following the Bank Holiday shoot we will be staying with the 50 birds over 6 stands format for a while.

We also have 2 practice stands.

Spent most of Sunday at the shooting ground with Graeme, Marg and Grandson Jacob doing various ground works to improvethe place.

Did a couple of hours tonight after work with Mark improving the cafe and building another table bench.

Still a few things to knock off the list of jobs ready for the shoot on Sunday so will at the ground again Thursday evening doing a few more jobs and building yet another table hopefully with Graeme and Martin.

So far the weather forecast looks good for Sunday.

An excellent shoot on Sunday. Much appreciation shown by members old and new.

Good to see a number of visitors from a local rifle club who have pledged to return.

Car park will soon be completed with road planings.

Next major projects are provision of shelter ready for the winter, and solar / wind generator to charge the batteries.
