Hermes Parcel Service are a Joke!!!

had a macbook due for delivery on the 11th/12 of this month turned up on the 9/th and just dumped on the outside door of our flats luckily one our neighbours spotted and took it in. then had an email saying my parcel has been delivered maybe im lucky it came so quick as some thieving toerag would have had it on his toes, no company should perform like hermes or is  it owned by amazon in some way

There was an interesting documentary on Herpes as while ago where they have weekly auctions of undelivered parcels - here you bid for the contents of a large plastic box and take pot luck on the value. Successful bidders usually make a profit: some a very good profit if there is tech included but the reporter who investigated  followed up on the failure to deliver information and in almost every case was able to locate address and person. Apparently their failure % is within industry levels of acceptability but still represents hundreds of thousands of disappointed customers annually.

No, carriage of somebody else's goods for delivery is haulage.

carriage of your own goods for delivery could be covered by business use but most private car insurance policies specifically exclude any sort of delivery.
