just got hold off a Beretta s56e single trigger ejector, 26" barrels, had a few shots with and shoots fine, however when you open the barrels you have to push it open the last little bit to get the bottom cart in or it fouls on the breech, seems like it pushing against a spring, and occasionally the bottom ejector doesn't work when opened slowly the top is fine.is this normal for this old gun? don't want to splash out loads to fix it as i didn't give a lot for it

It's normal for every Beretta of that family right up to the 692 to need that last little shove. It feels springy because you're pushing against the mainsprings. As for the ejector it may benefit from being taken out and cleaned/lubed or it might need a tweak from the gunsmith.

Tightening the forend doesn't involve those screws. It's a minor job but needs knowhow and skill. You can tell if it's needed when you have to physically hold the gun fully open to prevent it closing itself slghtly when you load/unload.

yes that's what its doing closes slightly and feels as if its under a little spring pressure and you have to hold it open to get the bottom cartridge in, ive fettle loads or airguns but never a shotgun so wouldn't know where to begin, is it expensive to sort?
