.260 rem

Recommended Posts

To me that means buying .260 brass / resizing .243 or .308 brass and reloading.

I don't have a wide experience of RFDs general stock but in the list of "common calibres" the .260 doesn't come anywhere as near the top as it does in the list of "useful / desirable calibres".

It's odd isn't it, other than the scarcity I can't seem to find much wrong with the calibre!

Rethink I think.

Are you not able to reload for it? I don't know of any bad cartridges based on the .308 Win case, so a little persistence might be rewarded with a tack-driving rifle that's just right for UK quarry...

Yes, it's part of my thinking, I reloaded a few years back with a .223 WSSM, but only on very transient period.

It sounds a fab calibre, I'll just need to get into the PW massive for a masterclass I think.

270 is based on the 30-06 case, which is based on the 30-03 case. Too long bro.

243, 7-08, and 358 are common to the 308w case.

I knew that, brain ****, I'm deciding between the 30-06 and the .260, that's where the err came from!

Thanks.

What are you planning to shoot ?

30-06 is a bad Beasty, .260 is less likely to give you a flinch

It's an odd comment, suggesting that it will prescribe a flinch, that only the people who shoot them are worthy.

I shoot .270 and .308 on a regular basis, is the 30-06 going to kill me by recoil?

The only time I have flinched shooting a 30.06 was with 200 grain Accubond off a bench not in a good position to start with, it made me say a rude word when i fired it.

But since then, never, if fact i enjoy shooting it, it makes me smile

I shoot a .260, got a local RFD to order me 200 Fereral 140gn. Shot it and some of the brass is on its 11th reload. Also bought 200 Lapua brass (when I done some target shooting) both makes are very good brass. Powder of choise for every bullet weight for me is H4350.

Hmmmm H4350, an all time favourite of mine.
