war0st
This may be a stupid question but I am going away for just over a month and my wife isn't to keen on my two shotguns being left in the house, she doesn't like guns really, a mate of mine has offered some safe room for the duration but my question is, do I have to sign my guns over to his licence and then swap them back on my return or is there a simpler solution to the wife's fears, I can't get rid of the wife either as after 22 years she's almost one of the family now. hambone
It might be easier to 'lodge' them with your local RFD.
robbiep
Yes, your mate has to have the guns put onto his ticket, and you must both notify police of the change. When you get back just repeat in reverse.

Rupert
Why would you deceive the wife? That is a recipe for disaster Transfer them to a friend, notify by email, job done Edited October 19, 2015 by Rupert

BangBangNik
Mate of mine had the whole back of his house off for an extension building, had to take his cabinet out so we just entered the details on my cert, I sent an email, he sent an email and job done. Took minutes. We will do the same again in reverse once his cabinet is back in the house.

tx4cabbie
I was away in Ireland for a couple of weeks earlier in the year, and signed my guns to a trustworthy friend to store in his cabinet - two weeks is a fair bit of time to crack a gunsafe, for the minor inconvenience it's worth piece of mind

happypig
If lent / lodged / given etc for more than 72 hrs then you must notify licensing And must repeat on return... It's simple to do and free Don't forget to enter on his ticket as lent then cross out on return
