remmy1100
well my shotgun cert is up for renewal in january and my firearms in april so I put paperwork in to have them renewed at same time and its cheaper that way and less paperwork for them, following a phone call was told i cannot renew both at same time as they cannot shorten the length of a firearms cert it needs to run for the full 5 years so id need to send new cheque sorry ect, after this i received another call from them saying i was eligible to be renewed by phone so after a few question and few laughs all was done..truelly a great bunch there.today i received my new certificate from them and they have issued it until my firearms expires so i can renew them together and told me they will hold my cheque and photos ect till then so i dont need to fill out everything again...you hear so many horror storys of firearms dept up and down country messing people around our northumbria has got to rank as one of top departments in the countrytruely outstanding service. Scully
Have I got this right? They have issued you with a new SGC three months prior to your current one expiring, for the duration of the remaining lifespan of your FAC so you can then apply for coterminous? Free of charge? phaedra1106
You may want to carefully check the dates, in theory a cheque doesn't have an expiry date but common banking practice is not to process cheques over 6 months old. While Oct-April is 6 months, if your cheque was dated Oct 1st and they present it say April 10th it may be refused! stuey
Reading some horror stories on here, forces should look at how Northumbria do it. Last variation I had done was put in one morning and ready for collection the following lunchtime. When I moved house they also set my shotgun cert to expire at the same time as my fac so that at renewal time I could do it coterminously. Great service.
