Chris Bb
All joking aside and further to the several sensible suggestions. I suspect the OP is here on business and looking for something positive to do in the evenings. I spent many years living in hotels Monday - Thursday around the country and can assure you that, especially at this time of year, everything worth seeing/doing shuts down at five o'clock. It really is a dreary life, on your own, eating hotel food and with nothing to do to stimulate the brain apart from ordering yet another drink from a disinterested bar person. Try to find the Wellington Arms off the Shirley Road, a cosy pub with good ale, but don't walk there alone! City life, isn't it fun?
la bala
......or Urdu. Sadly, Derby Road is now closed for business. Worked down there years ago on a motorway contract, if thats the road i am thinking of, it was very busy then.

TaxiDriver
There's a firm down there makes the Ford Transit curtain sider bodies for Ford, says something when that's about the most exciting thing I remember of the place  Also, (possibly same place) Ford Specialist Vehicles who make (convert) the Transit Minibus range
Chris Bb
Chris. I remember some bloody town clock striking every hour. ( Woken every hour ). If you were near the city centre that would have been the Civic Centre clock. About the only thing in the city centre that the Germans missed. What they didn't miss was hastily replaced with wall-to-wall concrete in the 1950's and time has, thereafter, stood still. Also, (possibly same place) Ford Specialist Vehicles who make (convert) the Transit Minibus range .Even Fords have moved out, the Transit's now made in Turkey.
