Face to face firearm sale?

Looking at selling my .22 in order to upgrade, if I went down the route of a face to face sale is it just a case of checking the buyer has an open slot for both the rifle and mod on their ticket, filling in the details then notifying both my issuing force and the buyer's of the sale?

Thanks in advance

Nik

A variation attracts a fee, as it is considered an addition.

A 1 for 1 is 'one off, one on', and is free as it isn't an addition.

A disposal doesn't attract a fee as it isn't an addition, and is the only instance in which licensing don't ask for the return of your license, for some reason, even though in theory, it is a variation in the sense of the term.

That's how it was explained to me anyhow.

I don't think a variation has to be like for like - more like anything off and replace it with anything else - so you still end up with the same amount of firearms when you complete eventually acquire it/them.

Correct. I have twice applied for a 'one for one' variation, and each time I changed to a different calibre. You can also have this variation for the same calibre.
